The book is a compilation of illustrations and mangas that appeared in Chikuma Shobo's PR magazine Chikuma. The basic structure consists of an illustration of a woman, Chikuma-san, at work on the right-hand page of the spread, and a 4koma manga to accompany the illustration on the left, such as "Hito making bread in Kasumi" and "Hito making jewelry in Krystal." In the book, the black-and-white manga from the magazine are now in color. The book also includes 32 pages of newly drawn manga, "Today's People" and "Tomorrow's People," as well as commentary for each episode.
